Microsuction uses gentle suction to lift the ear wax out of the ear canals. A microscope is used to view the ear wax, ear canals, and eardrums. A thin vacuum is inserted into your ear to dislodge your wax. After dislodging, the clinical ear care practitioner will remove the wax with the help of the vacuum.

There are few clinics that perform this technique as the types of equipment required for microsuction are pretty extensive.

Ear irrigation (previously known as ear syringing) uses a low pressure flow of water using a specialised irrigator to gently and effectively remove the wax build up.
